If you believe America has lousy health care... here's why

If you believe that Americans have lousy health care, it is probably not because you have experienced inferior heath care. It is probably because you were told America has lousy health care.

Last week, major news media featured these headlines:

Reuters: "U.S. scores dead last again in healthcare study"

Los Angeles Times: "U.S. is No. 1 in a key area of healthcare. Guess which one ..."

NPR: "US Spends The Most On Health Care, Yet Gets Least"

The Week: "US health care system: Worst in the world?"

Only later in the report does the discerning reader have a clue as to how agenda-driven this report and this study are. The otherwise unidentified Karen Davis, president of the never-identified Commonwealth Fund, is quoted as saying how important it was that America pass President Obama's health care bill.

Could it be that Ms. Davis and the Commonwealth are leftwing?

They sure are, though Reuters, which is also on the Left, never lets you know.

Here's how the Commonwealth Fund's 2009 Report from the president begins: "The Commonwealth Fund marshaled its resources this year to produce timely and rigorous work that helped lay the groundwork for the historic Affordable Care Act, signed by President Obama in March 2010."

But these two reports are only one example of the larger problem -- the world thinking is morally confused because it is informed by the morally confused. How else explain, for example, why America, the greatest force for good among nations, is hated, while China, never a force for good, isn't?

The answer is, unfortunately, simple: Garbage in, garbage out.

it is not that excellent health care isn't available, it is. What we have is an access problem. We had a system that was entirely set up to provide the least amount of care possible to maximize the profits of an industry that provides no value to health care.

Joe--I was never among those that though America has lousy healthcare.....in fact I know someone personally who just had emergency surgery....he's got no health insurance....and bills will be worked out through whatever govt services he is eligible for. Of course, there is a need for improvements to broaden access, make private plans more affordable--particularly in the individual plan sector of the market.....that could have been done without the massive overhaul that is going to result with despite Obama's promises to the contrary millions of Amercians losing their employer provided group plans or seeing those plans cut in benefits or increased in premiums NO thanks to Obama and his historic HCR....which was largely nothing more than cutting medicare to help fund enormous expanions of the second rate medicaid system....creating in effect a brand new entitlement that this country at this moment can not afford. I found it very amusing that the Europeans were schooling Obama at G20 about austerity budgets and cutting deficits. So much for Obama's big plan to turn USA into social welfare state.....the very ones over in Europe of which are now looking at their debt crises and saying....it's time to CUT....all the while obama continues to spend and borrow us into oblivion (oh, and get ready raise taxes, implement vat tax come next year). He is a JOKE.

Joe---it was so apparent to me in watching Obama at G20 that the Obama mystique is now GONE. He keeps talking; but they're no longer listening. He has been proven over the last 18 months to be a mere mortal and that's just so disappointing.

Well, I have experienced lousy health care. Three month wait for an appointment, fragmented care, inappropriate care, failure to provide preventative care,...

"1. The Left dominates the news media in America; and around the world, leftwing media are almost the only news media."

The middle is farrrrrrrrr to much to the left for many people.
